    Do you recommend sacrificing the lamb pre or post deck preparation? I usually do it pre.

    I love the thought of sailing so much that I've sat now for nearly 4 months studying sailing videos and following cruisers due to land locked Tennessee. I find it all so informative and worth it's weight in gold. I have to agree that this one came with a surprise with the carcass lashed there. Like some damn pirate movie. Impressed I must say.

      @ no Sir. the South of Argentina and Chile (Patagonia) is famous for the sheeps. There was once a law saying if you are hungry you can kill and eat a sheep provided you leave the leather or the carcass hanging in the fence.

    Great vid, thanks! There'd be a few amendments necessary for 'normal' size boats between 30 and 40 feet, eg stowing away anchor inside, which needs a designated spot down below where it can't cause any damage. Also interested what people would do with dinghies that have a hard V bottom? I do get this point but wondering if I am better off with one that has a roll-up floor . . that being said I never had any issues during 30 000nm of blue water sailing but there is always a first time for everything . . .

    Hi! Perhaps you will record some video, telling us about how to equip the yacht for the WORST storm? Your experience is important.
    To install extra heavy /long keel maybe can help avoid go around under the weather? If the weather really extreme, perhaps best to use only the engine and not using stormsail at all? Make the boat completely waterproof? Steering from the inside the boat? Going straight to waves or with waves and so on ...... I also understand that in the storm 6-8m waves you can be unlucky and meet 15-25m waves to.
    Best regards /Dennis

    Another great video, i presume you deflate and stow away the tender because you would have a self inflating life raft in case of emergency so would not need to use a tender ?

    Can I suggest that if you get into a storm you leave the hatch to the cabin open so you have a chance to practice capsize recovery techniques.

    I guess the main or smaller anchor could be deployed fast if engine problem as plenty crew.
    If short handed the anchor might be best more ready.

    Cable ties are OK for shackle pins? I would think the UV would degrade them, isn't stainless wire was the preferred method?

    • @Joshaott
      @Joshaott 7 лет назад

      You have to get the special ones that can hold up to UV. You wont find them in the hardware store but you can order them online. Just as good as wire and easy to remove with a knife.

      The black one are generally safe. I work a lot outdoors with "tie-raps", and found out that the white or the coloured ones dry out really quick in the sun. The black ones can last years.

      Another idea is not to cut the tails short as the stubs can cause nasty cuts normally to your wrists when working nearby and salty cuffs will irate like hell any slight cuts

  • @IandiBoats

    I was wondering what type of animal that was. It sure must have been tasty letting the meat age naturally. It may have dried out a bit too much without humidity control.

    What's the use of the skinned animal hanging?

    • @MrSwatbg
      @MrSwatbg 7 лет назад

      The purpose of this skinned anmal to be hanged out there is to dry out the meat. Dried meat last long just if it's not exposed to heat, which is impossible to happen in far south and far north. It can be eaten without being cooked and it's very delicious.

      They're actually like 20 or 30 minite peices with one intro. For some ungodly reason they chopped it up and have their intros over each one. Its infuriating. And they hide the full length ones to make it extra annoying
